Lenses for mFT-cameras...

Extension tubes

About a must for macro shooters - allows closer focusing with any lens. Not useful with wide angles: the focusing distance just gets too close, maybe even inside the lens. But with right tubes+lens combinations you can even focus to the front element or filter... Anyway, tubes are usually used with "normals" or teles/telezooms. Practical for flowers and butterflies etc. BTW: You lose some light due to the extension, the more the longer tubes you are using.

Discontinued models in red.

Focal reducers

New thing, new thinking. Take a reducer, add a legacy lens, and voilá, you have 1 stop more light power and different focal length. Magic? About. Even more impressive: the lens gets better with sharpness and contrast. Unbelievable?
Let's go to the maths: You have a reducer 0.71x, a lens of 28mm F2. After some multiplication you have a 19,9mm lens F1.4... Meaning you have "wide normal" F1.4, with depth of field of 28mm F2. Not bad.
Or. Keep the reducer (0.71x), take the new Samyang 135mm F2 with, let's say with Nikon mount, combine them and you have a 96mm F1.4 ... A very fast medium telephoto. And with a different adapter you have the 135mm F 2. Getting interested?
Take a 50mm F1.4 - easy to find form markets. Add reducer. Result: 35.5mm F1...
That "better sharpness and contrast" comes from the idea, that the light coming through the lens is squeezed into smaller area - so the details are tightened, meaning better resolution. The best part? Idea seems to work!
Bad thing? You need a lens designed for full frame to be able to use these reducers fully. But the old manual lenses are mostly useable. Now there are some AF-adapters too..

Teleconverters

More traditional way... 1.4x or 2x versions for FT-mount and about every lens (FT) usable; 1.4 for mFT, but just for 40-150 F2.8 and the coming 300mm F4 compatible.  And, as far as I know, the Olympus mFT-teleconverters will only be compatible with some Olympus lenses, and Panasonic versions only with some Panasonic / Leica lenses.

With 1.4x you lose 1 F-stop and with 2x two stops light. But the focal lenght gets longer... Light and easy add-ons for those needing for some extra reach now and then.

Discontinued models in red.

Adapters

Just dummies? Not anymore. There are couple of lens adapters which allow aperture control and even AF. And more "dummies", which allow the use of a manual lens on a mFT-camera, with manual focus and manual aperture.

For those dummy adapters there are so many manufacturers and even more market names, that I don't try to list them. Most of them work fine, as far as I know. There are also tilt, shift and tilt&shift adapters....

But those more advanced ones...
